Star Wars is one of the most successful franchises, which originally hit theaters in 1977. Today, the saga continues with The Force Awakens, and a spin-off movie titled, Rogue One.
Well get ready to see the Star Wars universe like never before because it’s coming to Hollywood! A bar inspired by the Mos Eisley Cantina, from the fictional planet of Tatooine, will be opening in California this winter.
In the films, the Cantina is filled with freight pilots and dangerous characters. Violence usually occurs and none of the characters really cares to give it attention. There is also a variety of creatures at the bar drinking, while a band performs. The music played is composed by John Williams, and has since become one of the most famous musical pieces of the franchise.
The location is where Luke Skywalker meets Han Solo and Chewbacca. It is also where the famous scene between Han Solo and bounty hunter, Greedo occurred. Their violent confrontation led to fan speculation about who shot first.
The real-life bar that is currently in the works is called “The Scum and Villainy Cantina.” It has its own Facebook page and website. However, the address is listed as a “Secret Hollywood Location.”
Walk-ins are welcome, but fans can also make reservations for two-hour blocks. The reservations include two drinks, a souvenir pint glass, and a Scum and Villainy challenge coin. According to the Nerdist website, fans can save their challenge coin and return “during open seating and get in for free.”
The Scum and Villainy Cantina also encourages fans to dress in costumes!
Get in the spirit by listening to the iconic Cantina music!
