EXCLUSIVE: Noah Schnacky Talks New Single Releases

Posted by Kelle Repass on Monday, June 3, 2024

Last month country music sensation Noah Schnacky shared two brand new singles; ‘Comeback’, and ‘Where’d You Go’ both are a real step up from the American singer/songwriter who has already become one of the most recognized voices within the genre.

The 23-year-old is a multi-talented musician with a divine vocal and mature songwriting style that sets him apart from his musical counterparts across the genre. Here we talk exclusively to Noah to discuss his latest releases in more detail:

Congratulations on the release of your new singles, how are you finding the response so far?

Better than I deserve. Incredible to see my fans as excited about the new music as I am. And it’s even more exciting to know there’s even more for them in the next couple of months.

Can you tell us about the writing process for these tracks?

“Where’d You Go” was a beautiful accident. It came together as a result of 3 different ideas, from me and two of my buddies in Nashville, Mark Holman, and Tommy Lee James. We all presented different elements, and I had this crazy idea to switch the key on them and layer them together. The result was the coolest sounding track I had ever heard.

As far as it goes for “Comeback,” I give a lot of the creative genius to Dann Huff. We sat down together and tried to create something that would embody the emotion of the song, but still stayed in the realm of what I love, country music. That’s the reason for the deep 808’s you hear in the verse (to create tension) and the cold lead line that leads the track (to create longing).

Where did you look to for inspiration when creating these songs?

Every song comes from a personal place for me. “Comeback” was based on a relationship that I had to give up in order to fully chase country music. The song discusses the feelings that I went through as I had to make the tough decision to chase my dreams. “Where’d You Go” comes from a dream that I had as a young boy of a girl that I believe was my wife, but I have still never met in real life. I’m still looking for that girl, and I hope that she hears this song someday.

What made you want to share these singles at this time?

The songs cover my thoughts on the past and my future. I felt that they’d be a natural pair because of that. I felt this time was the right time because it was the moment I was given the opportunity.

What are you hoping fans take away from these releases?

I hope they can find themselves in these tracks. I believe the reason that I love country music the most is because I can relate to it so deeply. But I think that to be relatable you have to be willing to be raw. That’s where these tracks started for me…finding my vulnerabilities as strength and hoping that these tracks can put words to the emotions that so many of us have been through.

There’s a real vulnerability in these lyrics, how does it feel to be sharing something so honest?

On the one hand, it’s a little wild but mostly exciting to be real. Honestly, this world has enough people trying to be perfect and I’m just happy to be myself with my music.

What has it been like sharing new music during this quarantine period?

It has been a huge joy for me. Something about quarantine has made people so receptive to new music and so excited about hearing it. I think it has something to do with everyone being cooped up. Regardless I’m grateful to have an audience that’s even more excited than I am to hear the next chapter of where we’re going.

How do you feel you will adapt to this changing period in the music industry when things start to open back up?

I think a lot will change for me. I’m hoping to do a lot more work from the boat. I seem to work better when I’m left alone to be creative. However, this has made me really cherish the times I do get to go see my fans on tour. So I’ll probably do much more of that as well.

Looking ahead what else in terms of releases can we expect from you this year?

I’ve got a new song called “Feels Like Love” coming in the upcoming weeks and another called “Meet The Man” that I’ve been excited to put out for a while now.

Do you have anything you’d like to say to your fans?

I’m beyond grateful for all the things that you’ve given me the opportunity to do. I promise to always be genuine, and never lose sight of the people who put me in this place.
